Carlow Senior Football Manager Turlough O’Brien says Eire Og and St Mullins strong showing in the Leinster Championship bodes well for the county sides.
The two clubs both reached Leinster Finals and were defeated.
Turlough says Carlow always punches above it weight….
He said “It does, we have been saying it for a long time that we have plenty of quality footballers and hurlers in the county and it’s a matter of believing in themselves and raising expectations and setting new standards for ourselves”.
“There is no doubt that the talent is there and we have very good clubs that are working hard on the ground and if we can nurture that we can see improvement in the fortunes of the county teams and that’s what’s been happening”.
