Ballyhale Shamrocks Joey Holden says the All Ireland Semi Final being straight after Christmas is unusual but there’s no place they’d rather be.
They take on Slaughtneil in Newry on the first weekend.
He says they understand how privileged they are to be there. “It’s where you want to be, every club dreams of getting here, a lot of clubs realistically don’t get the opportunity to play in these kind of matches so it’s brilliant”.
“On the 5th of January, it’s a bit different alright (earlier date for semi final), it’s not a case that you pick up the hurls and arrive on the 5th of January and play a match, there’s plenty of work that goes on the couple of weeks before that so it will make christmas a bit different”.
“It’s where you want to be, you want to represent your club on All Ireland Semi Final day, so we are just looking forward to that now”.
