Update Tuesday 1 September: This event is now sold out
We’ve already told you a bit about our Guinness All-Ireland Preview Show happening in Langton’s this coming Thursday night, but in the wake of a very successul Drive For Liam radio quiz last night, we can confirm more details.
Who’s involved?
Well, KCLR Breakfast‘s John Walsh – seen as he did such an outstanding job presenting the quiz – will be your MC for the night along side KCLR’s Head of Sport Stephen Byrne along with the familiar faces of Adrian Ronan and Michael Walsh.
The panel for the night includes former Tipperary goalkeeper Brendan Cummins; captain of the 1980 All-Ireland winning Galway side, Joe Connolly; former Galway hurler Damien Joyce; five-time senior All-Ireland medal winning goalkeeper, Kilkenny’s David Herity; former Kilkenny corner back, Michael Kavanagh; and another former All-Ireland winning captain in Andy Comerford.
When is it happening?
It’s all happening this Thursday night, 3 September, in Langton House Hotel, John Street, Kilkenny. Throw-in is 7pm and we’ll be live on air betwen 7 and 9pm, all with thanks to our friends at Guinness. We’ll talk, quiz the players, get up for the match, have some fun with Guinness and Langtons and open things out to our invited audience.
Why should you go?
It’s a cracking opportunity to hear from those who have been there and done it as to what’s in store for Kilkenny and Galway’s charges next Sunday afternoon in Croke Park. Oh, and we’ve got five pairs of All-Ireland hurling final tickets up for grabs on the nights for those who’ve registered in advance for tickets.
Spaces and tickets are very limited and you can get your name on the list by texting Guinness plus your name and age to 53307. Texts cost 60cent plus standard network charges apply, but we’ll text you back your ticket info.
However, this is strictly an over 18s event. Remember to drink Guinness sensibly, visit Drinkaware.ie.
