Former Kilkenny Senior Hurler John Power says that operating in the weaker section of Division 1 means that a proper assessment can’t be made about the Kilkenny Senior Hurlers just yet.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s National League Quarter-Final clash at home to Waterford, John says it’s not until later in the year that a true assessment can be made as to where they actually stand.

He said “To assess Kilkenny, I suppose the opposition really are not contenders I suppose to a degree, whereas they are after playing well and showing sparks of form and that there”.

“It will really come down until we meet some of the stronger teams to know where we are and between difficult weather conditions and storms and rain, it will take a little time more to know where we are”.
