Early November is always an interesting time for local GAA fans.
The club championships come to a close, some teams progress to Leinster, some get set for the winter break. At county level, the focus for the past few years has been on the “will he or won’t he” talk around Brian Cody’s future with Kilkenny hurling.
Well, you can rest easy tonight.
The most successful manager in the modern era will be continuing at the helm of Kilkenny’s senior hurling setup having been formally ratified for the 2016 season at Monday night’s county board meeting.

The decisions at tonight’s meeting means that Pat Hoban will be looking after the minors and Pat O’Grady the intermediates.
One of the big talking points will no doubt be the appointment of 8-time All-Ireland winner Eddie Brennan who will be looking after the Under 21s for the year ahead.

Cody, who retired as principal of St. Patrick’s De La Salle in Kilkenny earlier this year has been on the front line of Kilkenny’s hurling achievements since 1998, long since becoming the the county’s longest-serving manager.
With management positions cemented for the year ahead, the full management and All-Ireland winning team will be in The Hub, Cillin Hill this coming Saturday night for their medal presentation and award night.
Those of you seeking season tickets to follow Kilkenny for 2016 should know they’re already on sale and anyone looking for pre-Christmas delivery should have an order for a season ticket in before 4 December.
