It’s believed the GAA could be facing a deficit of up to 15 million euro if there are no inter county Championship matches played in 2020.
The Association’s employees could be facing further pay cuts in May and June with the GAA warning there is ‘unlikely’ to be a significant program of games this year.
This comes on the back of the GAA confirming it will offer partial refunds or discounts for next year to season ticket holders if the season cannot be completed.
Meanwhile, All Ireland senior hurling winning manager Liam Sheedy says he’d prefer to see a Championship behind closed doors rather than no Championship at all.
The Tipperary boss says matches played safely would give everyone a boost.
“It would be a massive lift I think if we could find a way where we could run games even though they would be behind closed doors its better then nothing at all, I think playing matches would give the whole country a lift!
