In the AIB Leinster Club ‘Special’ Junior Hurling Championship St. Patricks Tullow went down by twelve points to Broadford of Kildare at Hawkfield on Sunday afternoon.
The game finished up Broadford 3-10, St. Patricks 0-7.
Broadford went out with intent and inside the first ten minutes were already 1-4 to the good with St. Patrick’s yet to get off the mark.
St Patricks battled back and three minutes into the last period they had reduced the lead to a single goal, trailing 1-6 to 0-6. However, two goals from Bernard O’Reilly and Garvin Lennon left no way back for the Tullow men.
FT 0.7 to 3.10. Our lads today battled, it could have been closer but @BroadfordHC were just better! @Carlow_GAA pic.twitter.com/yQNA6OlTJD

Paul Monaghan Park
Elsewhere, there was a very large attendance in Leighlinbridge for the blessing, renaming and opening of the GAA grounds.
The grounds are dedicated to one their most favourite sons and long-time caretaker the late Paul Monaghan.
The ground and pavilion will now be known as the Paul Monaghan Park.
