Tullow man Sean O’Brien says he’s always been proud of the fact that he came from a small rural club onto the international stage as a rugby player.

He spoke about it as part of his new book called “Fuel”.

He’s currently in pre-season with London Irish and returns to the pitch in a few weeks.

Sean told KCLR Live that lot of people in Carlow & Kilkenny supported him over the years and if you had any notions of yourself, they wouldn’t be long about bringing you back down to earth:

“I really really appreciate that, so anytime I go home or there’s something to be done or I can help out in anyway I try and do that, but I’ve always kept my feet on the ground in terms of when I come home, if I had any notions about yourself, they’d soon be knocked out of you around the place anyway”.

He said “People around home wouldn’t be long about telling you if you’re getting to big for your boots, It’s a great place and I enjoy going home”.
