Carlow’s one point victory against the Royal County last weekend allows The Barrowsiders to control their own destiny in the Joe McDonagh.

Although it was a close game and with vision’s of Antrim’s last gasp draw still fresh in the mind, manager Colm Bonner was surprisingly glad to have such a tight test. Speaking with KCLR he said,

“I thought when we built a six or seven point lead we possibly should of done a bit more. That’s something we can work on. If we won that game a bit easier we wouldn’t of learned anything so we are delighted we were brought to the pin of our collar again. When you have the abilities to push on, you have to do that”

The team will now have this weekend off before they travel to Munster to face Kerry, who are in action this weekend with Antrim. Bonnar will be keeping a close eye on that game, saying “Our total focus is on Kerry, they play Antrim next Saturday, so we will know exactly what we have to do out there.
