Mike Wall is “excited” to be the new Kilkenny minor camogie manager having been appointed to his new post earlier in the week.

Wall will begin his second spell in charge of the team when the 2021 season begins and has outlined what he wants to achieve in the short-term with the team.

“Our first objective is to run trials and to get a panel together for the upcoming season,” said Wall.

Wall oversaw the minor side when they tasted success in the All-Ireland final in 2015 and told KCLR’s Sunday Scoreline that he will be hoping to reach similar heights this time around.

He said: “Hopefully we can win it again. It would be great and it’s our aim.”

The new minor manager also revealed that he expects the Camogie Association to release fixtures for next year’s competitions sooner rather than later.

“We haven’t heard anything regarding fixtures yet, but we’ll be expecting the Camogie Association to release them soon,” Wall added.

Although the new man has a number of his backroom team in place already, with Damien Donohue coaching the team and Paula Murphy and Mary Murphy being confirmed as selectors, he is hoping to add more fresh faces to his coaching staff before the season starts.

“We’d be hoping to add specialised people to the backroom team but it’s all uncertain currently with the situation we’re all in.”
