Ger Aylward has announced his Kilkenny inter-county retirement.
The Glenmore clubman signed off with a short and sweet statement at lunchtime on Saturday.
Taking to social media, Aylward signed off after seven years in the black-and-amber of the Kilkenny senior hurlers.

“Would just like to take this opportunity to thank family and friends for the support over the past 7 years it was an honour to wear the black and amber time to call it a day”, says Alward.
“Thanks for the memories.”
Aylward got his first start in the Kilkenny colours during the 2009 Leinster Minor Hurling Championship.

His senior debut came in March 2013, making a substitute appearance in the 2-17 to 1-19 defeat to Tipperary. Missing the 2016 season through injury, Alyward racked up a total of 10-36 across 33 appearances for the Cats.
He was named on the 2015 All-Star hurling team, and departs Kilkenny with two All-Ireland medals and three Leinster hurling titles.
His departure is the second in as many days following Friday’s retirement of Paul Murphy.
