Fans will be allowed back into stadiums in the UK as part of Boris Johnson’s Government’s roadmap to ease Covid-19 restrictions.
Up to 10,000 supporters will be allowed into grounds on May 17th, with the Premier League season to finish on May 23rd.
It’s intended that all lockdown restrictions will be lifted in the UK on June 21st.
In the government’s announcement, it says that they’ll enter stage three “no earlier than May 17th” and this will include:
Performances and large events will be subject to limits though. For indoor events, they can be at half capacity or 1,000 people, and outdoors they can be at half capacity or 4,000 people – whichever is lower. For large venues (at least 40,000 capacity) up to 10,000 will be allowed to attend.
Then they’ll move onto stage four no earlier than 21 June, and that will include:
All legal limits on social contact will be removed. No legal limits on the number of people who can attend weddings, funerals, and other life events. Nightclubs will be allowed to reopen.
However, for all these measures to go ahead at the different stages, they must pass tests at each five-week interval.
