Carlow sprinter Molly Scott in action at the European Indoor Championships in Poland this weekend

The Hacketstown woman is in action in the 60m on Sunday.

Carlow sprinter Molly Scott is in action this weekend in the European Indoor Championships in Torun in Poland.

An Irish team of 22 has flown over for the event with Phil Healy, Sophie Becker, and Sharlene Mawdsley all running in the heats of the 400 metres today (Friday).

Molly from St Laurence O’Toole A.C. doesn’t hit the track till 9.18 am on Sunday where she lines up for the 60m sprint.

Should she get through her races, the women’s 60m semi-finals are at 11.40 am on Sunday with the final at 5.46 pm.

She faces stiff competition from two of her Irish teammates though in Ciara Neville and Joan Healy.

Molly competed at the recent Elite Micro Meet where she finished first in both races, clocking 7.37 (Series 1) and 7.36 (Series 2), her personal best in this race was 7.32 which he clocked in Abbotstown in 2019.

Here’s the schedule of the Irish athletes for the championships this weekend.

2000 – Women’s 3000m Final – Michelle Finn

2035 – Men’s 1500m Final – Andrew Corcoran, Paul Robinson, Luke McCann

DAY 2 – Saturday, March 6

0918 – Men’s 60m Round 1 – Leon Reid, Israel Olatunde, Dean Adams

1025 – Men’s 3000m Round 1 (SF) – Sean Tobin, John Travers, Brian Fay

1110 – Women’s 60m Hurdles Round 1 – Sarah Lavin

1250 – Men’s 60m Semis – Leon Reid, Israel Olatunde, Dean Adams

1800 – Women’s 800m Semis – Siofra Cleirigh-Buttner, Nadia Power, Georgia Hartigan
