The Football Manager Football Show #009

Everybody loves a good redemption story, and Football Manager is a place where you’ll find them in abundance.

Having secured a domestic treble with River Plate and a double with Boca Juniors, our intrepid gamers and Football Manager lovers are bound for pastures new.

If you heard last week’s podcast you would have picked up on the news that both Leicester – 2016 Premier League Champions – along with Wolves had been relegated on the last day of the season, joining West Brom in the next tier down for English football.

With the possibility of a few Euro in the bank (there wasn’t) and the potential to lure big-name players to the club (there isn’t), we’re beginning season two in the second tier of football in England, the Championship.

Ken‘s taking over Leicester City, Brendan Rodgers sacked on the last matchday of the season, while Shane is going to try to guide Wolves all the way to the top of the table and earn an immediate return to the Premier League.

We’re far from done. In fact, for our eight episodes in Argentina, we were just getting warmed up.

With another seven or eight hours gaming on the clock this week, we’re running through pre-season this week as we discuss transfer dealings, in-game club takeovers, trial players, breaking down team structures, player recruitment, finances and much more in another sometimes frustrated, sometimes sweary episode of The Football Manager Football Show podcast.
