Carlow senior hurling manager Tom Mullally says communication is the most important part of bringing in new rules to the game.

The GAA has introduced new rules around the likes of the advantage, head injuries, and more which are being assessed during the National Leagues.

Tom told scoreline.ie that referees need to be clear with players on the field of play.

“I’m not sure who’s introducing them, who’s doing what with them, I think the advantage rule, I’m not sure where the advantage is in that if there are things going on, and also they’re going to have to look at how you communicate with players on the field of play as well,” said Tom.

“At the end of the day, we’re not Tipperary or Limerick where we have All Ireland and Munster Champions, we’ve got players that are developing and I think sometimes they need that bit of help on the field of play as well” he added.

Carlow are back in action this weekend against Down and we have live commentary on-air and online on KCLR and Scoreline.ie
