Carlow man Bryan Byrne’s season looks to be over after he went for a procedure on his knee last week.
Speaking on The Knock On podcast, his brother Ed Byrne said that he’d been carrying a niggle in his knee for a while and got work done on it last week.
It means he’ll rest up now till the pre-season begins again for the Bristol Bears.
Bryan extended his contract at Bristol Bears in March after a string of impressive displays for the club.
The 27-year-old has been a formidable presence in the Bears front row during the 2020/21 campaign, with seven tries to his name.
Meanwhile, there was some good luck for another Bristol prop, Kyle Sinckler who has been called into the Lion’s squad after Leinster’s Andrew Porter picked up a foot injury with Leinster at the weekend.
