The Irish Open is coming to Kilkenny, and you may be able to play in Wednesday’s Pro-Am.
Typically held as the pre-cursor to the main event, the Pro-Am gives a chance for the professional golfers to warm up alongside a host of budding amateur golfers and celebrities.
In recent weeks, Mount Juliet has seen the likes of Henry Shefflin, Brian O’Driscoll and Tomy Bowe check-in for a few rounds on the Jack Nicklaus-designed course. Other names already touted to be taking part include Kilkenny hurlers past-and-present DJ Carey and TJ Reid along with Danny O’Reilly of Irish band The Coronas.
Carey had been named ahead of the originally-scheduled May 2020 event as part of the Pro-Am.

This year’s Pro-Am takes place on Wednesday 30 June, a day before Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Padraig Harrington and Graeme McDowell all make their long-awaited return in front of a sold-out home crowd.
