The finalists for this year’s Maher Shield in Kilkenny have been decided.
After a tough game, Evergreen A emerged 4-1 victors over Newpark, having gone 2-0 up inside the first 30 minutes.
At least one of the Freebooters sides were destined for the final as A and B played out their semi-final at 6.45pm.
Freebooters A were 2-0 up at the break, goals coming through Jim Ryan and Andy Walsh. Walsh had a second by 55 minutes with Freebooters A up 3-0.
The game ultimately finished up 6-0 to set up a final encounter at Derdimus Park between Evergreen and Freebooters.
A match-date and time are yet to be fixed.
