Kilkenny U16 manager Seamus Kelly says his team worked really hard to correct the mistakes they made in the Dublin game before yesterday’s All Ireland Semi-Final against Tipperary.
They beat their neighbours 4-17 to 4-11 to book their place in the All Ireland final against Cork which is this weekend.
Seamus told scoreline that they hit 16 wides against Dublin and they had to fix that.
“It’s something we knew we had to work on, and we worked on it very hard,” said Seamus.
“We worked on the start, hitting the traps early, putting teams away, I think we had five points on the board within the first ten minutes or something”.
“They scored 4-17 in the end, that’s fair scoring, for a team of U16’s to hit that, that’s fantastic to see”.
“They worked hard, they put their shoulder to the wheel over the last two weeks, they took everything on board from the coaches, the coaches have done a fantastic job here, this isn’t about me as manager, I’m here to help the coaches, the coaches help the players and the result is what happened here”.
