It was another busy night of minor hurling action in Kilkenny as Michael O’Leary reports.
Mt. Leinster Rangers made it three wins in the space of eight days as they won out 0-15 to 0-9 against Young Irelands of Gowran in Gowran last night (Monday). The win follows on from victories against both O’Loughlin Gaels & Bennettsbridge.
In a low-scoring first half, the Carlow team led 0-6 to 0-5 at the interval, before stretching the advantage with three early points after the restart to build up a 0-9 to 0-5 lead.
Gowran cut the deficit to two points on three occasions throughout the second half, trailing 0-11 to 0-9 as the game had entered injury-time.
However, Mt. Leinster Rangers proved their superiority throughout injury-time, popping over four unanswered points to secure the victory demonstrate their full value for their six point margin.
Elsewhere, in the Minor Roinn A Hurling League on Monday Night, Naas defeated James Stephens 2-25 to 3-15, Dicksboro strolled to a 3-17 to 0-10 win over Bennettsbridge, while Tullogher-Rosbercon prevailed narrowly 0-13 to 0-11 against O’Loughlin Gaels after a hard-fought battle.
There were also wins on the night for Galmoy/Windcap, St. Lachtain’s, Ballyhale Shamrocks, St. Patrick’s, The Harps, John Lockes, Emeralds, Piltown, Mooncoin, Tullaroan and St. Martin’s.
