The South East U17 team beat Metro yesterday in the Shane Horgan Cup 37 -19.

Fifteen players from Kilkenny, Carlow, and Tullow rugby clubs make up the panel.

Carlow’s Jack Doyle scored two of the side’s try’s in the opening ten minutes.

Out-half Peter Burgess then went over than to make it 15-5 in the 16th minute.

The sides went in 25-12 at half-time but the weather conditions went downhill in the second half but the South East made the most of it coming out on top in the end.

SOUTH EAST: Shane Duffy; Geordan Peggs (both Tullow), Cillian Moore (Carlow), Connor Fahy (Wexford Wanderers), Adam Ralph (Wicklow); Peter Burgess (Tullow), Noah Cope (Carlow); Padraig Waters (Enniscorthy), Donal Kealy (Kilkenny), Tadhg Ronan (Carlow); Tom Stokes (Gorey), Ernest Kaulis (Arklow); Sean Roberts (Kilkenny), Jack Doyle (Carlow), Fionn Hickey (Tullow).

Replacements Used: Cian Cashman (Carlow), Gavin O’Connor (Enniscorthy), Sam Turner (Wexford Wanderers), Ryan Byrne (Tullow), Sean Dunne (Kilkenny), Neil Byrne (Gorey), Brian Broderick (Carlow).
