The new pre-season competition for junior rugby got underway at the weekend.
The Colm O’Shea Cup (J1) first round took place in what was the first club rugby game for the sides in well over a year.
Carlow, Kilkenny, and Tullow are all involved in the competition which is being run over four weekends with a final then in Landsdowne.
Tullow lost out in their first game against Seapoint with the score on that one 26-14.
Kilkenny was in action against Monkstown, however, they lost out too by 20-6.
The next round of games comes up this weekend.
