David Herity tackles the hard questions on KCLR's Kittens To Cats.

Former Kilkenny goalkeeper David Herity has agreed to extend his time as Kildare manager for a further three years.

The Dunnamaggin clubman has agreed to a three-year extension with a review taking place after Herity completes his fifth year in charge of the Lilywhites.

Club delegates are expected to ratify the proposal to keep Herity in place at the next county board meeting.

A Kildare GAA statement read: “Since David’s arrival three years ago, the Senior Hurling Team has achieved numerous honours including Christy Ring Cup success and promotion to Division 2A.

“Both Kildare GAA and David are looking forward to further maximising the potential of our talented group of players within the county in the coming years.”

The highlight of Herity’s time in charge of Kildare came in 2020 when the five-time All-Ireland winner guided Kildare to Christy Ring Cup success.

Herity, who took over in 2018 and has also managed to promote Kildare to Division 2A of the National Hurling League, will be hoping to build on the recent success of the senior and underage teams.
