Jimmy Walsh from Callan Boxing Club has been honoured with a Hall of Fame Coaching Award at the annual Irish Boxing Awards in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel last night.
The local man has been involved with the sport for 72 years having boxed and trained in London before coming back to Ireland.
He’s particularly proud of Callans Claire Grace who is one of the top female boxers in Ireland.
The Irish Athletic Boxing Association Annual Awards saw the top stars of 2015 celebrated with the IABA Vice President Joe Hernon and IABA Registrar Stephen Connolly presented the awards.
IABA Secretary Sean Crowley introduced the evening.
