Paulstown’s Darren O’Neill is back in action this weekend in the semi-finals of the senior elite championships.
Darren, who hadn’t boxed in three years, won his quarter-final last week beating Kane Tucker at the national stadium.
He faces Ighosa Igharo from Clann Naofa on Saturday from 3 o clock in the 86 kilo category.
Darren’s trainer, his father Ollie O’Neill says he doesn’t know much about their opponent.
“We’re boxing a chap from Dundalk, we don’t know much about him,” said Ollie.
“He’s supposed to be 6″2 or 6″3, we haven’t much information about the chap, now he’s a big tall guy, so we just have to take every fight as it comes, take it at face value and just go up and get on with it” he added.
