Kilkenny
Kilkenny rugby club got their first win in the Leinster League with an emphatic 29 – 06 defeat of Suttonians on Saturday.
Suttonians opened the scoring with a penalty and Kilkenny got the try which saw them going in at halftime 7-6 up.
Kilkenny took control of the game then and touched down a few times to get the bonus-point win.
It was a big day for the likes of Conor Walsh whose brother Jack also plays making his step up to the firsts from the youths, he was even named man of the match.
Tullow
Tullow was beaten on the road in their game at Ashtown Lane on Sunday.
They lead at halftime and kept in touch with a strong Wicklow side but the home side came out on top 24 – 20 winners.
It was a busy weekend for Tullow as the Black Gates hosted the Paul Flood Plate Final, the Paul Cusack Cup Final, and the Paul Cusack Plate Final.
There was great talent on display, with Tullamore RFC winning the Paul Flood Plate Final v CYM, MU Barnhall winning the Paul Cusack Cup v Portlaoise and Longford RFC winning the Paul Cusack Plate final v Greystones.
Carlow
Carlow was due to play Mullingar away on Sunday however the club postponed all their adult fixtures as a mark of respect following the death of Margaret Crotty (nee Lambe) mother of club President Tom Crotty.
A minutes silence was observed at each of the youth games.
Carlow will take on Mullingar away on Sunday next in that re-fixed game
