Limerick name their team to face Kilkenny in Saturday’s All Ireland Qualifier

Limerick GAA have confirmed that a two-year deal with three-time All-Ireland winning manager John Kiely has been confirmed.

Kiely and his backroom team – consisting of several coaches and specialists including Paul Kinnerk and former Limerick midfielder Donal O’Grady – had a two-year extension approved by a County Executive Committee on Wednesday evening and that agreement will be ratified at a County Committee Meeting in October.

Kiely’s spell in charge of his native county has been hugely successful.

Since taking over in 2016, Limerick have won three All-Irelands, three Munster titles and two National Hurling League titles.

The new deal will see him lead the Treaty into a sixth and seventh season under his stewardship.

In a brief statement, Limerick GAA said:

“Following a County Executive Committee Meeting this evening the Limerick Senior Hurling Management Team consisting of: John Kiely, Paul Kinnerk, Alan Cunningham, Aonghus O’Brien and Donal O’Grady, has been approved for a two-year term and will be brought forward to the October County Committee Meeting for ratification.”
