Tullow women’s team picked up a good win against Edenderry in their first match of the Division 1, Leinster League on Sunday.
Chloe Farrell opened the scoring after six minutes, followed by new player Anne Roche. There was a big stoppage due to injury and Edenderry scored right on the restart with Ciara O’Dwyer replying pretty quickly for Tullow.
Another new addition to the team, Sophie Roughan scored just before halftime, making it 20-5 to the Slaney siders at halftime.
Tullow scored two very nice tries in the second half, with Lisa O’Toole running 100 metres to score her first try in the maroon and white, and the second, a typical Chloe Farrell try which Catherine Dempsey converted.
Edenderry scored two tries in the second half, with Tullow digging deep to stop Edenderry from scoring the fourth try.

Tullow ladies are looking forward to welcoming Railway Union J1’s to the Black Gates next week for the next round of the Leinster League.
