Bank holiday sport: Kilkenny hurling fixtures weekend 23/24 October

We'll be live in UPMC Nowlan Park on Sunday for the senior hurling championship semi-finals.

It’s an October bank holiday weekend without a county final in Kilkenny, but we’re getting close to the end of the 2021 championship season with local games due to be wrapped up by mid-November.

This weekend, our live game focus goes to the senior hurling championship semi-final double-header in UPMC Nowlan Park as Tullaroan and O’Loughlin Gaels get to mix things up while Ballyhale Shamrocks, having dispatched of Bennettsbridge last time out, come up against a James Stephens side hungry for another bite at the county final cherry.

Saturday 23 October

JJ Kavanagh & Sons junior hurling championship Section A quarter-finals

  • 1pm: Blacks and Whites v Mooncoin at Páirc na Seamróg
  • 3pm: Piltown v Slieverue at Mullinavat
  • 3pm: Emeralds v Tullogeher Rosbercon at Pairc Sheamuis Stiophan

Michael Lyng Motors intermediate hurling relegation semi-final

  • 3pm: Dunnamaggin v Young Irelands at Thomastown
  • 3pm: John Locks v Conahy Shamrocks at Tullaroan

Duggan Steel Under 15 Hurling Championship

  • 11am: Fenians v Barrow Rangers, C Final at Páirc Lachtain
  • 11.30am: Dunnamaggin v Piltown, B Final at MW Hire Centre Dunmore

Sunday 24 October

St. Canice’s Credit Union senior hurling championship semi-final

  • 1.30pm: Tullaroan v O’Loughlin Gaels at UPMC Nowlan Park**
  • 3.30pm: Shamrocks Ballyhale v James Stephens at UPMC Nowlan Park**

Monday 25 October

JJ Kavanagh & Sons Hurling Championship Section B Final

  • 12pm: Dicksboro v James Stephens at St. John’s Park
