Lisdowney manager Martin Power has revealed that they had higher expectations than simply avoiding relegation this season following their senior relegation semi-final victory against Rower Inistioge on Saturday.
They beat Rower Inistioge 3-18 to 1-15 in the senior hurling relegation semi final.
Speaking after his side’s victory, Power said that he was pleased to come out on top against difficult opponents.
“We’re happy with the result, but reflecting on the year, we set our targets a little bit higher than this and we found ourselves where we were today unfortunately” said Martin.
“We got over that and done our job today, and thankfully we fought tooth and nail with a very very tough and challenging Rower side”.
