Jimmy Barcoe’s whirlwind run in the racing world continues as he trained another two winners over the last week.
Influential Lady – which he also owns – followed up her victory in Gowran Park a few weeks ago as she landed the spoils to win the Premier County Mares Handicap Hurdle in Thurles last Thursday afternoon with Cathal Landers on board.
Cathal was also in the saddle as the Yvonne Hennessy-owned Jiving Jerry displayed great determination to get on the finishing line in Galway last Saturday afternoon to oblige as favourite and win the W.B. Gavin & Co. Handicap Hurdle.
Jiving Jerry also won in Galway on the October Bank Holiday Weekend Festival last year and last Saturday’s victory was Jimmy’s fourth winner over the past three weeks, marking his best spell as a trainer.
The Gowran man also trained 40/1 outsider Kingston Retreat to win a Maiden Hurdle in Downpatrick recently and Jiving Jerry’s win last Saturday in Galway meant he has hit the winning target in each of the four provinces.
