Local men’s rugby sides return to Leinster League action this weekend.
Kilkenny will be looking to bounce back from a 34-20 defeat to Monkstown at Sydney Parade last time out.
The Foulkstown men are mid table in Division 1A this season with two wins from four albeit conceding almost as much as they’ve scored. Having opened the season with a defeat to Gorey, they bounced back with a bonus-point win over Suttonians at home followed by a two-point win over Dundalk to record back-to-back home victories.
With Kilkenny hosting Seapoint at Foulkstown this Saturday at three, they”ll be hoping to make home advantage count against the unbeaten Dubliners.
In Division 1B, Tullow will be looking to get some more points on the board.
The men from Black Gates haven’t had the best of starts in J1 rugby this season and are without a win since the opening day of the season. A 46-21 defeat at home to Boyne was book-ended by slender defeats at the hands of Wicklow and Cill Dara.
This Sunday they’re at home to basement side Clondalkin. A bonus-point win would go a long way and there’s a real opportunity on Sunday afternoon to make that happen.
County-neighbours Carlow have made a better start to this season with three wins from four, only falling by a kick of a ball to Wicklow last time out.
Looking to reclaim that momentum, the Oak Park side are making the trip to CPL Park in Longford on Sunday afternoon who trail Carlow by two points back in fifth.
Elsewhere, Mullingar host Cill Dara while league leaders Wicklow and Boyne meet at Ashtown Lane. All games kick off at 2pm.
