The competition is seen as vital in the development of future rugby talent in Leinster for those chosen to the Under 16 and Under 18 teams.
Earlier in the week South East’s Under had back to back victories over Metro and beat Midlands 31-05 with 21 of their points scored by Kilkenny players.
Yesterday they faced the North East, however the Northeast ended up winning 27 – 24 after storming ahead by 22 points in the first half.
Speaking after the game Kilkenny Rugbys James Blanchfield said it has been fantastic for underage rugby in the area.
“I think it great to see so many local kids involved in the Southeast team. Between Kilkenny, Tullow and Carlow we seem to be dominating those selections. From our own perspective we have 6- 11 guys involved but there could be another 8, 9 or 10 players who will mature later and fingers crossed we can get them through aswell.”
