Next week’s Camogie All-Star awards have been postponed.

In a short statement on Friday afternoon, the Camogie Association announced the ceremony will move to a date yet to be decided in 2022.

“Due to the ongoing challenges with Covid-19, The Camogie Association have taken the decision to postpone this year’s All-Stars Awards ceremony which was due to take place next Friday 26th November in the Osprey Hotel, Naas”, reads the statement.

“While we appreciate the disappointment of all who were planning to attend, this decision has been taken with the health and safety of all in mind.”

“The Camogie Association look forward to holding The 2021 All-Stars Awards in 2022 when the opportunity presents.”

While the Association’s awards will not be taking place, one ceremony that is are the Camán Caint Team of the Year and Player of the Year awards.

We’ll be live online this Tuesday from 7pm to announce the overall junior, intermediate and senior teams of the year and players of the year for 2021 as part of the Kilkenny camogie championship.

Full details and links to watch along will be published on Monday.

Hurling & Football All-Stars

Friday also saw the cancellation of the in-person element of the GAA-GPA All-Stars for a second year running.

Originally planned for a banquet event at Croke Park on 10 December, the awards will now be broadcast as part of a special TV progamme from 7pm on the same date.

“Due to the ongoing challenges with Covid, the GAA, and the GPA, along with partners PwC, have taken the decision to cancel this year’s All-Star, Joe McDonagh Cup TOTY and Champion 15 TOTY banquet originally planned for the CCD on Friday, 10 December,” said the GAA in a short statement.

“This decision has been taken with health and safety in mind.”
