Kilkenny’s Colm Whelan has been telling Scoreline that the planning for 2022 can wait a few days as celebrations continue at UCD.
Whelan scored the match-winner at the weekend to lift The Students back into the SSE Airtricity Premier Division, at the same time relegating mangerless Waterford back to life in the First Division.
Despite being linked with a move to Damien Duff’s Shelbourne, Whelan says the focus for the team is to cement their top flight status next season.
“We will still enjoy the celebrations for another week or so before we worry about next year. UCD as a club are always going to lose players but we have quality throughout the squad and we will definitely turn up next year.”
