ITC Basketball welcome Trinity Meteors to Tyndall College at eight o’clock this coming Friday.
Limited places are available for spectators and Covid certificates are required to attend the game.
They’re out again on Sunday when they travel to take on Singleton SuperValu Brunell in the Parochial Hall at 2.45 pm.
In the insuremyvan.ie Division 1, IT Carlow travel to take on WIT Vikings on Saturday in Carrickpherish Sports Hall at 7 pm.
Marble City Hawks are in action on Saturday in the missquote.ie division 1 where they entertain Griffith College Templeogue in O’Loughlins GAA Club at 5 pm.
Weekend Report
The last MissQuote.ie Super League game of the weekend was a tight affair in the end, as just two points separated Team Garvey’s St. Mary’s and IT Carlow Basketball at the finale.
Nine ahead at half-time (36-27), Team Garvey’s St. Mary’s had to hold off IT Carlow who closed the gap to two in the third quarter.
Rheanna O’Shea (15 points), Paris McCarthy (13 points) and Emma Sherwood (13 points) took the reins on scoring for Team Garvey’s St. Mary’s, while Alysa Velles (16 points), Lauren LaLant (12 points) and Lucy Coogan (12 points) delivered the majority of IT Carlow’s scoring.
Speaking after the game, Team Garvey’s St. Mary’s head coach Liam Culloty appreciated getting another win under their belt.
“We are absolutely thrilled to get our second win of the season. IT Carlow came back at us very strong in the 2nd half but we finished the final two minutes really well. We made some smart decisions on offence and defence, and that helped us get over the line. Wins in the MissQuote.ie Super League are really hard to come by, especially without an American, so I am really proud of all the girls and their effort today” praised Culloty.
In the InsureMyHouse.ie Division 1, in Saturday’s final game in the competition, IT Carlow outgunned hosts Fr. Mathews to get the win.
Jordan Fallon scored 24 points for IT Carlow, with Nate Schafer supporting his efforts by scoring 23 of his own. Johnathan Garcia (23 points) and Diego O’Herlihy (21 points) were top scorers for Fr. Mathews.
In a double-header weekend for the Donegal based team, LYIT Donegal got their weekend off to a good start, with a win over visiting team Marble City Hawks.
Up by a single point at half-time, LYIT Donegal extended the margin to win 66-54 at the end.
Shannon Cunningham stood out for LYIT with 20 points, while Elaine Kennington was the top scorer for Marble City Hawks with 18 points.
