From Mooncoin Twitter page

Mooncoin booked their place in the All Ireland Junior Final after cruising passed Galway’s Salthill- Knocknacarra.

The Kilkenny side got off to a blistering start in Gaelic Grounds, and never let up. Finishing the game as 2.26 to 11 points winners. A matchup with Ballygiblin awaits the Leinster Champions with that fixture set for 3 pm in Croke Park on Saturday 5 February.

After the game, Mooncoin chairman Tom Murphy spoke with Scoreline about how he believes this Championship run has captivated the whole community.

“Again, we had huge traveling support, there is huge excitement in Mooncoin. Everyone is talking about it, it’s hurling, hurling, hurling, that is all that matters.”

However, Murphy seems to have confidence heading into the showdown, the seventh time Kilkenny and Cork champions have met in the final;

“We were worried (Ahead of semi-final). We had a hangover after the county final, the Shamrocks match was a struggle.”

“You could see the last couple of weeks in training, they are really coming back to their own. It was great stuff at times against Salthill-Knocknacarra.”

“It is great. We are just looking forward to the build-up in two weeks. time. There is no point going up to Croke Park unless you are going to win it!”
