Carlow 1-12
Tipperary 0-08
Carlow have advanced to the final of the Andrew Corden Cup as they eased past Tipperary in Saturday afternoon’s semi-final.
Neither side could shrug off the other in the first half as points from Conor O’Neill, Luke Ramsbottom, Anto Keating and Bryan McMahon giving the Barrowsiders a 0-04 to 0-03 lead after ten minutes.
Two further McMahon frees along with a fine score from play by Oisin Doyle edged Carlow ahead once more and a crucial goal from Fionn McCaffrey left the scoreboard reading Carlow 1-07 to 0-06 Tipperary.
Playing against fourteen men for the duration of the second half following the sending off of Dara Curran late in the first half saw Carlow take complete control of the game after the interval.
Points from dead balls from McMahon, Keating and Kuba Budzisz gave Carlow a 1-10 to 0-06 advantage midway through a one-sided second half and despite their best efforts Tipperary could not eat into their opponents lead as Carlow ran out deserving winners.
