Former Kilkenny hurler Michael Walsh is optimistic for the Kilkenny senior hurlers despite their exit from the National Hurling League.
The cats lost to Cork at the weekend in the semi-final, 1-27 to 2-20.
Kilkenny plays Westmeath on Saturday 16 April in their opening round of the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship away at 6 pm.
Michael spoke about the league on Full Time with Sinéad Kehoe last night and he’s still somewhat optimistic about the big games ahead.
“They’ll be dissappointed in the way it finished up and not to get to the league final but at the end of the day, as people keep saying, it’s all about the championship,” said Michael.
“I think theyre in a good position, they stil have TJ Reid to come back into the fray, and one or two others, I think they’re building nicely and they’ll do well come championship time hopefully anyway” he added.
