Anderson Cup – Carlow 19 Gorey 22
A last-minute Gorey try at Oakpark on Sunday deprived Carlow’s J3 side of a place in the semifinal of Leinster’s Anderson Cup.
With only a minute to go the spirited Carlow team, a combination of youth and experience was leading by 19 points to 15.
However, the home side was visibly tiring and was unable to withhold the final onslaught from the Wexford visitors.
During the game, Carlow’s backs, which included Carlow coach Corey Carty, looked to have an edge but they needed more of the ball.
All the Carlow points were scored by young outhalf Ben Crotty.
