Carlow awaits the clash of Offaly and Louth tonight in the Leinster U20 Football Championship to find out who they get in the next round.

The Barrowsiders received a bye into the next round but are coming off an Andrew Corden Cup victory.

Speaking to Scoreline, manager Maurice Brown outlined he will be keeping a keen eye on the encounter.

That’ll be a tough match, the only advantage that we have is that we’ll get to see them the week before (their game)”.

“Offaly won the All Ireland last year so they’ll have a good few of them players available, but Louth are always tricky customers underage, but then again now, they always have seven or eight outstanding footballers,” said Maurice

“I think they have four in the senior panel a bit like ourselves and Offaly, we’re all in the same boat that way”.

“We’re all kind of smaller counties, so you’re going to have a cross between the U20s and the seniors so we’ll all be in the same boat that night going into that”.

Elsewhere, Longford set up a Leinster under-20 quarter-final with Meath by beating Wexford 4-9 to 1-7.

That quarter-final line-up will be completed this evening (Thursday), with the winners of Wicklow’s meeting with Westmeath to play Dublin.
