There’s an eight-race card at Gowran Park in Kilkenny this afternoon with the first going to post at 4.50pm.

Johnny Murtagh and Ben Coen may well be the team to follow today as they supply the favourite Flying Dolphin (5/4 at time of writing) in the in the 5.20pm Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden.

The duo also have One For Bobby going at 9/4 in the @gowranpark1 on Twitter Fillies Race at 5.50pm. The favourite in that one will be Suwayra, trained by DK Weld and ridden by Chris Hayes who doubled up to win the Guineas at the weekend.

“The card itself is a tricky card with some really exciting races”, says Gowran Park’s Eddie Scally in speaking to Scoreline on Tuesday morning.

“Our ground is now yielding, good places after 14mm of rain yesterday. For local interest, the 6.20pm has a horse Saraquel trained by Ray Cody and ridden by Ben Coen who was the subject of a fairly decent gamble last night so it will be fairly interesting to see how that goes.”

Also tipped for a good showing in that one is the 5/1 Ceallach for Michael Halford with Ronan Whelan on board.

“In the last, all-conquering champion trainer Willie Mullins runs Beret Rouge (2/1), owned by his wife and will be ridden by Colin Keane who is the current champion jockey. That horse will have a brilliant chance in it. The weather forecast is very kind for the evening. We’re expecting no rain and a nice dry day.”

First race at Gowran Park goes to post at 4.50pm with the last race at 8.20pm. Courtesy busses are leaving the Kilkenny Castle gates at 3.50pm.
