Following on from last week’s Gaynor Cup for U14 girls inter-league sides, the boys Kennedy Cup gets underway from today at University of Limerick.

Again, Kilkenny and Carlow are well represented with over 30 sides set to compete across over 90 games between today and Friday.

Carlow have been drawn in Group 2 alongside DDSL and Clare with Kilkenny involved in Group 6 alongside Galway, Kerry and North Tipperary.

For Carlow, they’ll site out the first day of games with a bye, instead taking on Clare at 10.30am on Tuesday.

Kilkenny will begin their campaign at 6pm on Monday against Galway, the 11th game of the day.

Action begins with games from Group 1 through Group 4 from 4pm.

Top-placed teams by Tuesday night will be in the quarter-finals for this year’s Kennedy Cup with second-placed sides heading to the bowl quarter-final. Third-placed teams contest the shield, and fourth the trophy. The shield will be contested by this year’s cup quarter-final losers.

Quarter-final games are scheduled for Wednesday with semi-finals and playoff games down for decision on Thursday. By 5pm on Friday, after 96 games, we’ll know all of this year’s winners.
