The Republic of Ireland along with Kilkenny’s Ellen Molloy can secure a World Cup play-off spot tonight.

Vera Pauw’s side knows a win over Finland will guarantee second place in Group A.

Experienced defender Niamh Fahey is to miss the game, having been ruled out with a groin injury.

Kick-off at the sold-out Tallaght Stadium is at 7 pm.

Pauw says that nerves shouldn’t come into the equation.

“You get nervous if you do not know what you face, but we know what we face and we know what we stand for. I Hope this full house will help us through the games, especially during difficult moments.”

The Irish captain is Arsenal star Katie McCabe, who clearly feels the magnitude of having the captains armband;

“For me, every time I lead the side out is a special occasion. It is such a massive honor to do that. Of course, though it will be extra special with friends, family and what is at stake.”

The game will be broadcast live on RTÉ2 and worldwide on the RTÉ Player.
