Fresh from her travels with Vera Pauw’s senior side this past week, Kilkenny’s Ellen Molloy has been named in Dave Connell’s Ireland U19 team trip to Portugal next week.
Molloy was a second-half substitute in Ireland’s 1-0 win over Slovakia on Tuesday, Denise O’Sullivan’s goal giving Ireland a bye in the first play-off round, effectively putting the senior side 90 minutes away from a spot at next year’s Women’s World Cup.
For the U19s, their 2022/23 season gets underway this coming week with a trip to Portugal and two games at the Centro de Estágios do Luso as part of preparations for their WU19 European Championship Qualifiers against Poland, Northern Ireland and France.
Ireland will play Portugal twice in three days, first on Tuesday at 6pm and again on Thursday at 5pm.
