We now have confirmation on the semi-finals for the senior football championship after the weekend’s action.

Rathvilly bested Eire Og in the second quarter-final on a scoreline of 1-09 to 8 points. They will now go up against Palatine this Saturday, with that game being broadcast live on KCLR from 7.15pm.

Palatine are in impressive form themselves, with Pado Flynn having them flying in the group stages, which earned them an automatic semi-final berth. Rathvilly were not particularly impressive in the group stages, but after their performance against Eire Og, Pat Ryan has full belief in his squad.”

“When you get put on your arse on a number of occasions. you have to get off the floor. I thought some of our boys out there were outstanding. I thought Padraig Deering was outstanding.”

“We are building a panel, a strong panel. We can look back and talk about this that and the other, but the group games have stood to them hugely.”

“All we asked of our lads was they leave everything on the field, and they did. Whatever differences you have in family life or whatever, you have to park it. It is one of our better performances all year. “
