The Talbot Hotel Carlow Junior Football Championship semi-final between Leighlinbridge and Ballon took place last night as Leighlinbridge and booked their place in next weekend’s decider.
Two goals proved crucial for Leighlinbridge as they got the better of Ballon under the floodlights at Netwatch Cullen Park.
The game proved to be a tight contest throughout as neither side could be separated in the first 60-minutes as it finished 1-07 to 1-07.
A Cian Brennan goal in extra-time that was brilliantly finished after some good build-up play saw them advance to the decider on a scoreline of 2-11 to 1-08.
Elsewhere, Bagenalstown Gaels were defeated in the relegation final by Fighting Cocks.
Fighting Cocks proved far too strong for their opponents as they were victorious on a scoreline of 6-20 to 2-00.
