Two Carlow footballers have been included in the TG4 junior Team of the Championship following their intercounty exploits in 2022.
Old Leighlin’s Rachel Sawyer and St Brigid’s Sara Doyle were standouts for Ed Burke’s side as they progressed to the All-Ireland semi-final where they were eventually defeated by Antrim in a repeat of last year’s outcome.
Before that, the Barrowsiders had topped their group following victories over Derry and Fermanagh and a narrow loss to London in front of one of the biggest crowds at a Carlow ladies football game in recent years.
Sawyer was part of the Old Leighlin team that won the county championship earlier this month with a win over Bennekerry Tinryland.
Both players will receive their awards at Croke Park on November 4th.
