There’s so much at stake for teams over the next two weeks.

For Ballyhale, they’ve got a chance of making a historic five-in-a-row senior hurling title in Kilkenny – and James Stephens have the power to stop them and avenge a county final defeat in 2019.

For Danesfort and Thomastown it’s a much-coveted place in the senior ranks. Danesfort dropped out two years ago and Thomastown could have taken their place but for a penalty shootout defeat at the hands of Lisdowney, themselves heading back to intermediate in 2023.

And for Blacks and Whites and Windgap, the chance to move up from the junior ranks is surely top of any team’s agenda from the outset of the season. When Blacks and Whites last won the junior championship in 2009 they progressed on to win out Leinster in the same year. In Windgap’s case, you’ve got to go back to 1986 for the last time they lifted the junior championship.

So who’s playing when?

With three games left to be played, the senior showdown is headed for Kilkenny GAA HQ this coming Sunday with the junior and intermediate deciders set for the following weekend.

Sunday 16 October: Ballyhale Shamrocks v James Stephens, UPMC Nowlan Park, 2.30pm

Sunday 23 October: Blacks and Whites v Windgap, UPMC Nowlan Park, time TBC

Sunday 23 October: Danesfort v Thomastown, UPMC Nowlan Park, time TBC
