Carlow senior football manager Niall Carew was full of praise for Palatine after they achieved their first success in Leinster with their victory over Wicklows St. Patricks.

They now go up against Portarlington in the next round, and speaking to Scoreline at the launch of Carlows Gaelic Bingo, Niall was happy with the direction Carlow football is going;

The Port train keeps rolling, this time to face Carlow champions Palatine.
Round 2 takes place Sunday 6th Nov. in Dr. Cullen Park Carlow.
Throw in time to be confirmed.

“It is great to see Palatine putting themselves on the map and getting their first Leinster victory as well, which is very important.”

“A really young team. You know I worked there for a year, really really good club, they really want their teams to do well. I know when I was there as a manager in 2018, we wanted for nothing to prepare the team.”

“They were so professional and I can see why they’re back winning county titles again and competing. A really exciting young team, it might not be this year with the Leinster club championship, but going forward, I think Palatine has a massive future and so has a lot of Carlow teams.”

Gaelic Bingo is a fundraising initiative by Carlow GAA to benefit all clubs within the county.
